Anyone ever done the Kayak rental/trip from Topock to Havasu? My dad really wants to do it. It looks like it would be awesome, but would have to be done in the middle of the week during the summer due to the heavy weekend boat traffic. Or on the weekend now, but you run the risk of it being really cold and windy.

No but that sounds like it would be incredible. Have you seen the movie "Into the Wild". There is a scene in the movie where he kayaks down the Colorado all the way into Mexico. Freakin Awesome!
(don't ask me how he got around the dams but the thought is cool)

I've seen the kayaks and canoes but always think, "That must suck being pounded by waves all day and hoping the fast boats dont run you're paddling azz over." But thats just what I think, to each his own.
The middle of the week in springtime would be perfect. Water is still chilly but the weather is nice enough where you dont have to dunk in every 10 mins. Take pictures and let us know how it goes.

I would love to kayak again. I know Nootka Sound fairly well now and there are some gorgeous places to go there that I wouldn't mind going to on an adult-trip as opposed to a school-trip (which is what I do the rest of the time . End of August might be perfect too as I need to drive up there anyway to move back to Strathcona. Let's keep in touch and maybe plan this!
