I remember when MTV came to Havasu for a few years. I still think it was crazier back then when Copper Canyon was the place to be. Not by much though.
I will not be making it this year though. Just got laid off and its just too far for me now.

I was planning on going up to Parker but it looks like work might get in the way of that. Have fun my NP/TO Neighbor.

Its nice having a place at the River because every time you go during the Spring is like Spring Break. I will be heading down tonight and the plan is hit up Pirate Cove tomorrow or Saturday, for the first time this season. Way to Kick off the new River Season.

Hey ratchetdu, my buddy and I are also heading down to Havasu on Sunday. This will be the first time having the boat out this season. What's your favorite place to hang out down there?

We've only had our boat in havasu once, although i've been several times on other people's boats... Usaully just cruise around for a bit and then hit up one of the coves like Steamboat or Copper Canyon, and then on to the channel. Never been to the sandbar or anywhere down that way yet, so maybe some exploring tomorrow...
We plan on arriving around 930ish and launching before 10am if all goes well. Launching out of Windsor (hopefully the PWC/Jet Boat launch isn't affected by the renovations, which i dont think it is)...
Whats your boat? looks like a SeaDoo? Ours is a Yellow/White Yamaha, "Wet Spot". Give me a yell if you see us...

Yea, its a 2006 Seadoo Sportster 215. We launch at Park Moabi and cruise down the river to Havasu. We hit the Channel Sunday for a while. On our way back up to the mouth of the river, We found 4 boats that ran a ground on sandbars and were stuck because the lake level was so low. Luckily I only need about two foot of water for my little jet drive. We stopped and helped push these boats back out to deeper water. I saw one guy run into a sandbar at 30 mph. Wow did he stop fast! We got him out though. The only boat that we could not help was a ski Boat. He had to get pulled out by 2 boat US rescue boats both pulling on it. I have been to Havasu alot and have never seen this many folks run into sandbars before all at once. I have also never seen the river that low either in this area? Should come up soon though as it gets warmer and power demands go up.

Yeah, we saw them doing their exercises. It was really cool to see them. But, the coolest part was when one of them decided to follow real low to the water and trace our wake! Wish i could have gotten a picture, but i was driving. Talked a buddy of mine who flys helicopters for the military and said they will do stuff/follow/chase boats all the time for manueverability practice...
Awesome day overall!
