Topock Marina owner Chet Hitt is getting ready to tear it down come September, to begin construction on a $14 million, 102-room hotel, spa, restaurant, bar, night club, microbrewery, and conference center overlooking Topock Marsh. … For the project to proceed, Hitt needed a seawall permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It took three years for the permit to be approved, and the wall was recently completed. … He’s put together “a small group” of investors to fund the resort and has been working closely with Mohave County. “They’ve been awesome. They’ve been very, very helpful,” he said. “Mohave County is definitely open for business and seem like they really want to help small business.” … “A lot of people have asked for memorabilia of the building,” Hitt said. “That’s why we decided to do a demolition party.” He’ll be giving out pieces of the building as souvenirs. … For more information, visit the Topock Marina website at Topock 66.

Interesting. Thanks for the info, I had not idea. Bet the Pirate Cove owners are not real happy. I've boated all over the country and there's no doubt Topock is an amazing area. Hopefully the river can handle the added boat traffic.

I think it will be great. Yes, it is going to increase the river traffic, going to have to be alot more aware up threre.
I dont think the Pirate Cove people should be mad, It will probably help them. It will give people 2 different options in the Topoc/Needles area. It's like a restaraunt row almost.

Mixed feeling on this,
My family has owned property in Topock for 50 years and going to and using Topock marina since it was first built. My parents always tell me great stories about the "old days" but the building is for sure old and falling down.
I won't like the increased river traffic but having such a cool spot so close is going to be great, now we wont have to drive to Havasu or Laughlin at night to party!
