What's your plans for getting out of town with the family this summer. Lets hear 'em.
I live in a vacation spot as it is, I can ride my bike through the trees and trails and be at the beach in less than 5 mins. Plus we dont have the money to go on any big trips this summer.

Me and a few buddies are going camping for 8 days in the high Sierra outside of Fresno north of Shaver Lake. Once you get past Shaver you will hit Huntington Lake and from there its 23 miles along a 1 lane road with 200+ft cliffs and no railing called Kaiser Pass Road. This road is so crappy that at most you will be going is 10-15mph and it normally takes about 2-3 hours to go the 23 miles. The place is called Jackass Meadows and at 7200ft elevation it is an amazing place to camp. Tons of rivers and lakes to go fishing and some of the greatest mountain views in CA. It’s the most remote place I have ever camped and as you can imagine it’s not too crowded since it’s hard to get to. There is a regular campground there with 44 sites but we like to camp away from everyone down one of the offroading trails. If you really want to get away from your daily life this is a great place to do it. In case you were wondering the place is called Jackass Meadows because of all the wild Jackasses the roam the meadows.
Here is a pic of our camp last time I was there.

That's awsome. I've been to Huntington Lake once, when I was 2. I used to watch the home movies from there and have always wanted to go back.
I really hope to have the opportunity to go camping in the Sierra's one of these days. I've done the desert camping enough, time to get into some trees and fresh water.
