Some people are soo cool! I'm sittin at Fox's with my wife, and some friends. I see this family pulling up the the ramp to tie up. A husband, wife, and two smaller kids. So I, or course, run over to help out. Get the line, tie his bow up, and go to the back. Handshake, sweet... I go back to what I was doin... BNAG a round of drinks show up for my wife and I... from him. Nice... Cheers... "Hey... wanna go for lap?" Normally I would not take a ride from a stranger, at a bar... However, he did just roll up with the kids... HELL YEA!!

YEa ,its a different kind of people in the boating community and good to hear the positive stuff. Its how i raise my kids too, my dad would slap us silly if we didnt rush to help or assist a docking boat lol.

Same here, I was waiting for the horrible ending to the story, something like the guy got pissed you tied the boat up wrong. River Politeness goes along way!

I've had that happen at RoadRunner. Someone was pulling into a space that seemed smaller than their boat, so I went over to help. I've been tying boats since I was about 5, but he didn't like my style. I guess I wrapped it one too many times. He said 'thanks, but I will do it.' The attitude was so thick i thought about accidentally tripping over his line with a knife!

Anyhow, one bad experience has not stopped me from trying to help people. We all boat in crowded spaces and a helpful hand is really appreciated by me, so I still offer mine!!
