Hi there,

New to the forums, glad I found this site in my searches.

My wife and I (and dog) are headed to Havasu in a few weeks. I've been to Havasu before, but always as a passenger. I am taking my boat this time and I am wondering what hot spots I should visit. If anyone can let me know where I can get a map too, that would be great. We are staying at the Motel 6 by the London Bridge, so if you can reference that in relation to whatever hot spots you have, that would be great.

Thanks.

There are definitley a few hotspots. The channel is close and usually is going from early morning and picks up in the late afternoon. You can head up river to the Sandbar but it gets shut down on major weekends. Farther up river is Pirates Cove, which has a cool bar and a nice channel to park and chill in. Heading south you can get to Copper Canyon, a few miles down on the right. Keep going and you will hit Steamboat cove on the left after the trailers and camping, I forget the name of the site.

Those places are the big party spots and get very busy on the busy weekends.

Have fun.

You can pick up a map at the Windsor ranger station when you go to the boat launch. The map is good for showing the points of interest on the Lake. Here is my short list of places I like.

Channel - near M-6
Sand Bar - may be closed on holidays
Run from Havasu to Parker Dam
Run through Topock Canyon to Pirates Cove
Rotary Beach to swim but not be in the channel. No dogs. The island side of the channel allows dogs on the beach.
Gene Rush Cove
Crystal Cove
Copper Canyon.
Parker Dam
Pilot Point
Of course you can find lots of secret places on our lake that you will love.

Type these locations in Google to get destinations. Happy and safe boating! 120 degrees in Havasu - love it.
